Jahnke, Gail Susan (19 November 1949 – 10 November 2021)
Gail Susan (Hart) Janke left this earth Wednesday, November 10, 2021, surrounded
by her family.
Gail was born on November 19, 1949, to Harold and Muriel (Nelson) Hart. She grew
up on a farm in rural Humbird. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1967
and then married her high school sweetheart Michael G. Jahnke, Sr., December 2,
1967. Together they had five children and resided in rural Alma Center. They
later divorced.
Gail was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and great-grandmother who
had a love for birds, reading, puzzles, and the Green Bay Packers. She had a
huge place in her heart for the Lord and for animals.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Ken and Richard Hart,
sister Kathy Stolp, brother-in-law Lee Segerstrom, and special friend William
(Sonny) Theiler.
She is survived by her sister Karen Segerstrom of Oklahoma, children Tammy
(Gene) Simmons of Blair, Pam Laufenberg of Black River Falls, Sue (Scott)
Guenther of Blair, Michael Jr. (Amanda) Jahnke of Black River Falls, and Anne
(Darrin) Boehm of Black River Falls. Grandchildren Amanda Hovey (Cam Daley),
Mikayla Simmons (Gage Everson), Brandon Simmons (Savanna Johnson), Erika
Simmons, Ryan (Ashley) Laufenberg, Duane Laufenberg, Jr., Briar Guenther
(Cassandra Cable), Travis (Alexis) Guenther, Reed Guenther, Ellen, Hallie, and
Mariah Jahnke, Nolan and Charley Boehm and Dylan Dutton. Great grandchildren
Isaiah and Aubrey Laufenberg, Adelynn and Blaine Guenther, and Jolie Daley.
Brother-in-law Harvey Stolp of Arizona and many nieces and nephews.
Gail will be remembered for her humor, funny one-liners, and homemade sandwiches
that she made sure she had when her grandchildren visited.
There will be a Celebration of Gail’s Life and open house on Friday November 26,
2021, from 1:00-3:00 at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home (128 S. Hoffman St.
Hixton, WI 54635). Officiating for the Celebration of Life is Pat Trotter.
The Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements
