Graikowski, Mr./Mrs. Michael (72nd – 19 Jan 1974)

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Graikowski, presently residing at the Clark County Hospital and Home, observed their 72nd Wedding Anniversary on January 19, 1974. Mike Graikowski, 92, came from Poland with his family at the age of 3 and lived in Illinois for a short time, and then came to Wisconsin. Josephine (Lesniewski) Graikowski, 88, came by train from Pennsylvania to Chicago when young, and then to Wisconsin.

Mike Graikowski and Josephine Lesniewski were married January 19, 1902 at St. Hedwig’s by Father Ignatz Orlik. They resided at rural Thorp, where they farmed most of their married life. They had six children, three boys and three girls, John Graikowski, Thorp, Route 1, Mike Graikowski, Chicago, (Evelyn) Mrs. Adam Wiater, Thorp, (Sophie) Mrs. Henry Arndt, Hanover Park, Illinois. Stanley and Lottie are deceased. They also have 26 grandchildren and 63 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Graikowski has one sister, Mrs. Francis Wisniewski, Waterford, Wisconsin and Mrs. Graikowski has two brothers and one sister, Mike Lesniewski, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Edna Jasinek, Thorp, and Adam Lesniewski, who has since passed away.

The honored couple received a corsage and boutonniere from their daughter, Mrs. Adam Wiater, Withee, for the special occasion.
