Wuethrich, John (Cowbell Award - 1980)
John Wuethrich, Greenwood, was named the Cowbell Award Winner for 1980 by the
ADA of Wisconsin. The award recognizes Wuethrich’s “services to dairy farmers
and the dairy industry of Wisconsin.
In presenting the award at ADA’s annual meeting, ADA president Vernon Schultz
said, “no one will ever know the hours John Wuethrich has put in serving
agriculture and the community.”
Wuethrich is owner of Wuethrich Creamery Co., producer of Grassland Butter. He
is also a charter member of the WCCN Dairy Boosters Club and has advertised
dairy products continuously since 1948. Wuethrich is very active in community
programs including fund raising efforts and community promotion.
ADA General Manager John Oncken said, “ Wuethrich is a prolific promoter of
dairy product. He has advertised tens of thousands of times to promote the dairy
industry and charities.
The ADA Cowbell Award is given annually to the Wisconsin resident who has worked
hard in behalf of Wisconsin’s dairy industry.
The ADA of Wisconsin is an organization of 13,000 dairy farmers who contribute 1
to 3 of one per cent of their milk check for dairy product production.
