Kay Marie Jake and Lt. Vincent Joseph Schultz were united in marriage at 3:00
p.m., Saturday, April 12, in Zion Lutheran Church of Granton. With the Rev.
Horst Augustin officiating, the father of the bride presented her to the altar.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Schlinsog. Rt. 2 Granton and the
mother of the groom is Mrs. Marion Barry of New Fairchild, Conn.
Matron of honor was Ann Thies, Menomonie. Bestman was Stuart Dyer of Hanau, West
Germany. Ushering were Will Schlinsog and Todd Thies.
The bride chose a white Jersey gown with tear drip neckline, trimmed with lace
and featuring a high collar. She carried a single Sonja rose. The matron of
honor wore a sleeveless, yellow Jersey gown with high-gathered neckline, draped
waistline and A-line skirt. She also carried a single Sonja rose.
Caroline Helm served as organist and a vocal duet was performed by Gayle Urban
and Connie Mullins. Following the service, a reception was held at the church
with a dance following at the Granton Sportsmen’s Club.
The bride is a graduate of Granton High School and just finished three years in
the U.S. Navy. The groom is a graduate of Carmel High School in Carmel, N.Y.,
and is a June 1978 graduate of West Point. He is presently a lieutenant in the
U.S. Army. The couple will make their home in Heilbronn, West Germany, where Lt.
Schultz is stationed.
