Green, Raymond H. (20 October 1917 – 3 April 1980) With Flag

Raymond H. Green, 62, Merrillan, died in his home of an apparent heart attack, on Thursday morning, April 3. Green was born in Dells Dam, Clark County, on October 20, 1917, to Anson and Esther Anderson Green. He married Nora Turner in Louisiana on February 14, 1945. He was a World War II veteran and worked for the L.G. Arnold Construction Company until retiring.

Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Mrs. Shirley Ellers of Winchester, Mrs. Betty McDaniells and Gladys, both of Merrillan, Rosemary of Darlington, Mrs. Dorothy Birks of Blair and Mrs. Nora Lee Kinser of Fall Creek; four sons, Robert, Thomas and Raymond, Jr., all of Merrillan, and Henry of Darlington; his mother, Esther Green, Merrillan; one sister, Mrs. Vance (Lois) Bates, Merrillan and one brother, Lawrence, Merrillan.

Services were held from the Jensen Funeral Home, Hixton, with the Rev. Calvin Carey officiating. Burial, with military rites by the Merrillan American Legion Post and Alma Center F.F.W. Post, was in Oakwood Cemetery, at Merrillan.
