Lezotte, Edward J. (13 April 1905 – 14 April 1980)
A longtime, Town of Grant farmer, Edward J. Lezotte, passed away in Neillsville
Memorial Hospital, early Monday morning, April 14, after a lingering illness,
(one day after his 75th birthday.) He was born on April 13, 1905, in the Town of
Grant to Anthony and Lydia (Schupe) Lezotte. After his education in that area,
he worked in Detroit, Mil, for a few years, returning to the home farm and
remaining there until hie death. He retired from farming in 1971. On September
8, 1934, he married Hazel Peaslee in Neillsville ceremonies.
Surviving him, besides his wife are four sons, Alvin and Virgil, both of
Merrill, and Leroy and Douglas, both of Neillsville, five daughters, Mrs. Wayne
(JoAnn) Holnbach of Rudolph, Mrs. Clarence Hoesly, of Granton, Mrs. Allen
(Donna) Larson, of Janesville, Mrs. Dick (Paulette) Oldham, of Stoughton and
Mrs. Roman (Marcia) Huppert of Prescott, one brother, Glenn, of Loyal, forty
grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one son,
Gerald, two brothers, Tony and Thomas and two sisters, Grace and Nellie.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. from St. Mary’s
Catholic Church in Neillsville with the Rev. Chester Osowski officiating. Burial
was made in the parish cemetery. The Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements. Lezotte was a member of the parish, which held rosary services for
him on Tuesday evening.

Lezotte, Edward J. (13 April 1905 – 14 April 1980)
Funeral services for Edward J. Lezotte were held on the late morning of April 16
from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. Mr. Lezotte passed away on April
14, at the age of 75.
With the Rev. Chester Osowski officiating, burial was made in the St. Mary’s
parish cemetery in Neillsville. The church choir offered music for the rites
with Mrs. Glenn Short as accompanist. The pallbearers were Calvin Gerhardt,
Lawrence DeMert, Ed Hainz, Leonard Drescher, Walter Larson and Maynard Anason.
The Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Arnold Eppers and Mrs. Frank Ule, of Chili; Mrs. Bob Schultz and Mr./Mrs.
Bernard Kitzhaber, of Greenwood; Raymond Peaslee, Gillingham; Alice Peaslee and
Arlene Moser, of Richland Center; Helen Kronberger, Marshfield; Mr./Mrs. Joe
Fickhelm, Unity; Glenn Lezotte and Lorraine Francis, of Loyal; Mr./Mrs. Glenn
Lezotte, Jr. Stoughton; and Mr./Mrs. Norman Kuhl, Sussex.
