Lewan, Kim M.(1955 - 2021)

Kim M. Lewan, 66, of Thorp, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at his home.

Kim Matthew Lewan was born on January 29, 1955, at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley, the son of Louis and Virginia (Novak) Lewan. He was raised on the family farm, received his education at Thorp Catholic and High Schools, and graduated from Thorp High School in 1973.

After graduation, Kim spent a winter in Florida working on a lettuce farm before attending a Short Course for Agriculture at UW Madison earning his certificate. He worked on his brother Jim's dairy farm for many years before returning to the home farm to start a career of his own. Kim was united in marriage to Ruth A. Frisk on August 13, 1988, at the Lone Rock Baptist Church in Camp Douglas, WI. Kim and Ruth then rented the neighboring dairy farm until purchasing it in 1990. They later divorced. He dairy farmed full-time until 2011, at which time he began his second career choice of hauling milk while also farming part-time.

Besides farming, Kim enjoyed trucking, visiting with his neighbors and relatives, doing building projects, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by 2 sons: Matthew (Chasity) Lewan, and Kevin Lewan, both of Thorp; 8 grandchildren: Shania, Shaylie, Kenay, Savanna, Sydney, River, Jedidiah, and Summer ; his former wife: Ruth Frisk of Eau Claire; 2 stepsons: Don Frisk and Jordan Frisk, both of Eau Claire; 4 brothers: Jim Lewan, Alan Lewan, John Lewan, all of Thorp, and Dennis Lewan of Simi Valley, CA; one sister: Janice (Curt) Stenz of Pikeville, TN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Kim was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Community Alliance Church in Withee with Pastor Andy Davis officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until time of service.
