Kasprzak, Stanley J. (2 September 1904 – 27 April 1980)
Stanley J. Kasprzak, 75, Merrillan, died Sunday, April 27, in the Family
Heritage Nursing Home at Black River Falls. He was born September 2, 1904, in
Poland to Joseph and Agnes (Matysiak) Kasprzak. In 1906, his family moved to the
United States and settle in Cicero, Illinois. In 1930, Kasprzak moved to the
Merrillan area, where he was employed by the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad.
He married Wanda Janicki on June 28, 1933, in Merrillan. They moved to Freeport,
Illinois, in 1953 where he was employed as a carpenter at Burgess Battery,
retiring in 1969, when they returned to the Merrillan area. He had been a
resident at the nursing home since August 1979.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Lowell (Agnes) Dvorak and Mrs.
Marion Meyers, both of Merrillan, and mrs. Douglas (Janice) Turnmire of Bangor;
a son, Stanley, Jr., Freeport, Ill.; seven sisters, Mrs. Martin (Victoria)
Jankowski and Mrs. John (Josephine) Kosabucki, both of Decatur, Michigan, and
Mrs. Anton (Mary) Slomczynski, Mrs. Anton (Mae4ry) Poplawski, Mrs. Chester
(Helen) Bielawa, Mrs. Stanley (Sophia) Zero and Mrs. Joseph (Hattie) Dobrozczyk,
all of Cicero; two brothers, Joseph, Decatur, Michigan, and Marion, Cicero; 16
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two
brothers.
Services were held Thursday afternoon in the Charles Buswell Funeral Home in
Black River Falls with the Rev. James Murphy officiating. Burial was made in the
Hatfield Cemetery.
