Pipkorn, Darlene Yvonne (22 October 1936 – 20 November 2021)
Darlene Y. Pipkorn, 85, of Marshfield, formerly of Loyal, passed away on
Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center.
Darlene Yvonne Ledger was born on October 22, 1936, in Marshfield, to Roland W.
and Rose M. (Groff) Ledger. She was raised and received her education in
Marshfield, graduating from Columbus Catholic High School in 1954. Darlene was
united in marriage to Eugene Pipkorn on June 2, 1956, at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church in Marshfield. They lived and farmed in Unity, where they raised their
family. After her divorce, Darlene moved to Owen.
She had many interests, but especially enjoyed reading, embroidery, sewing in
her younger years, loved the Packers with her favorite player being Bart Starr,
and keeping her kids in line.
She is survived by her children: Barb (Steve) Pankratz of Marshfield, Cheryl
(Rolf) Johansson of Concord, NC, Gini (Dave) Johansson of Fernwood, ID, Laura
(Steve) Kauth of Loyal, Tammy (Kevin) Smith of Eau Claire; 15 grandchildren; 19
great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; one son-in-law: J.B. Beidel of
Colby; one daughter-in-law: Lisa Pipkorn of Dodgeville; one brother-in-law:
Virgil Farunkrug of Hartford; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sons: John, Andy and Brian
Pipkorn; one daughter: Dianne Beidel; 3 brothers: Bob, Roland Jr. and Donald
Ledger; and 7 sisters: Oralee Roth, Joyce Farunkrug, Doris Hirsch, Pearl Rand,
Ruth Ledger, Rose Heindl, Lois Ledger, and one sibling in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at St.
Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. Rev. Leo Johnson will officiate, and burial
will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the
church, on Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Colonial Center and
Marshfield Health System for the care given to Darlene.
