Koplitz, Patricia A. (12 May 1931 – 23 December 2019)

Patricia A. Koplitz, 88, of Colby, passed away at Auberg Acres Adult Family Home on Monday, December 23, 2019.

Patricia Ann Bladl was born on May 12, 1931, in Neillsville, to Paul and Irene (Kubat) Bladl, Sr. When she was a young girl, her family moved to Owen where she was raised and received her education. Patricia graduated from Owen High School and then attended UW-River Falls for 2 years, where she received her teaching certificate. She was united in marriage to Melvin Koplitz in October of 1958 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. Patricia farmed with her husband, taught at Withee Elementary School and taught piano lessons for many years. She also played the piano as a volunteer at Continental Manor Nursing Home in Abbotsford, helped at the Owen-Withee Schools with solo ensembles and volunteered in the elementary school where she was known as Grandma Pat to many kids and adults. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she served as the choir director for several years, started the Holy Rosary Polka Band and Choir and was active with its' PCCW.

Faith was the basis of her life as she was a strong, quiet, thoughtful person who strove to do what was right in God’s eyes and to treat others with kindness every day. Her strong faith carried her through the every-day challenges of life. She was a devoted parent who gave her total unwavering support and love to each of her children as they grew up and went off to pursue their own dreams. With a love of family and music, she taught piano to her children, some of her grandchildren and many more. She also played the organ, violin and cornet. Her homemaking talents included cooking, baking, cake decorating, gardening, sewing and crafts. Her teaching background showed her interests of knowledge and fun through reading, research, puzzles, all kinds of games and sharing all these loves with her children and grandchildren. She loved animals, stone houses and being by or on the water. Along with being kind and reserved, she will be remembered for her little sarcastic remarks, (like “Yes, Mom.” whenever someone would suggest she do something), her jokes and especially her giggles...even right to the end of her days.

Patricia will be dearly missed by her children: Rick (Kris) Koplitz of Owen, Rita Koplitz (Tim Conway) of Withee, Roger Koplitz of Stevens Point, Rodney (Dawn) Koplitz of Chippewa Falls, Ramona (John) Weiler of Owen, Roy (Brittany) Koplitz of Wausau, Ralph (Jan) Koplitz of Amherst; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; her daughter-in-law: Tena Lowry of Utah; her brother: Paul (Bernie) Bladl, Jr. of Dallas, TX; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son: Randy Koplitz; stepfather: Joe Zielinski; and her sister-in-law: Nancy Bladl.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen, WI with visitation at 10 a.m. and funeral mass at 11 a.m. Rev. Leo Johnson will officiate, and burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Withee.
