Senior student Mackenzie Keller is serving as the Neillsville Kiwanis Club
Junior Kiwanian of the Month for November.
Keller was introduced to the club at its Nov. 8 meeting. She is the daughter of
Bob Keller and Ellie Keller. As Junior Kiwanian, Keller has been participating
in meetings, experiencing the business and activities of a service club, as well
as given members the opportunity to interact with a high-achieving student from
their community.
Keller has a long list of activities and accomplishments in high school. She has
earned 11 first-place ratings in Solo and Ensemble, been named to the Cloverbelt
All-Conference Choir, served as choir president and received academic letters.
Additionally, she is in show choir, received a gold medal at State Forensics,
and participated in Quiz Bowl, Teen Leadership Council, the Big Buddy program,
Spanish Club and Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). Her
sports involvement includes volleyball, track and figure skating.
Keller’s volunteer activities in the community include singing the national
anthem at events, operating the church slideshow, singing at nursing homes,
hospital auxiliary events and assisting with Smiling for Samuel.
Along with her numerous activities, Keller has worked part-time at Family Roots
Hair Salon, and currently is employed at M&M Catering, Schmitty’s On Main and
the Neillsville Retirement Community.
Following graduation, she plans to attend UW-Madison with a major in geriatric
psychology.
“The Neillsville Kiwanis Club is pleased to have Mackenzie Keller as its Junior
Kiwanian, and to highlight the activities and achievements of a highly-motivated
young person. We wish her luck in her future endeavors,” wrote Kiwanian Brent
Shoup in a press release.
