Schuld, Mr. and Mrs. Leander (60th - 1980)
Leander and Julia Schuld, Neillsville, were married 60 years ago on Sunday, May
11. They celebrated the event with their seven children, most of their 27
grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren at a Saturday, May 10, dinner at
the Moonlite Inn and later at the home of one of their daughters and son-in-law,
Margaret and Norb Schlegelmilch.
The couple were married in St. Andrew’s Church, Rozellville, he the son of Simon
and Theresa Schuld of Loyal and she was the daughter of John and Margaret Weber
of Rozellville. Attendants at the wedding were Julia’s sister and brother,
Margaret (Weber) Gall and Joseph Weber, and Leander’s niece and nephew,
Josephine (Bauer) Zimmerman and Edwin Gall.
The couple operated a farm, south of Loyal for 25 years, a farm where Leander
was raised. In 1945, they purchased their present home on the northside of
Neillsville. Leander was employed as a janitor for St. Mary’s Catholic Church
for nearly 15 years and later worked at the Neillsville Foundry.
Children of the couple include Alfred, Wauconda, Ill.; Elenore Long, deceased;
Josephine Schmidt, Eau Claire; Margaret, Schlegelmilch, Neillsville; Romaine,
South Milwaukee; Gerry, Crystal Lake, Ill.; Marilyn Miller, Libertyville, Ill.;
and David, Wis. Rapids.
Leander’s twin sister, Angeline Frei, and one of Julia’s sisters, Margaret Gall,
both of Neillsville, were present for the occasion.
