Lew, Lucille (19 April 1980)

St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lublin, was the April 19 afternoon site for the marriage of Lucille Lew of Gilman and Howard Geldernick of Chili. The Rev. Casimer Paul officiated.

Fay Geldernick, daughter of the groom from Chili, was the maid of honor. She was joined by Shelli Lew, daughter of the bride. Serving as bestman was Tom Geldernick, son of the groom from Chili, and he was joined by Lester Lew, son of the bride from Ladysmith. Ushering were Henry Lew of Ladysmith and David Geldernick of Spencer, sons of the couple. Jennifer Lew of Gilman and Tanya Marg of Granton, granddaughters of the wedding couple, were flower girls.

The bride wore a lavender polyester dress, featuring an empire-waist, stand-up collar with ruffled yoke, lace bodice and long, chiffon, lace-trimmed sleeves. She carried a bouquet of roses, carnations and baby’s breath. Her attendants were attired in yellow polyester gowns in the empire-style, featuring floral print, chiffon jackets. They carried bouquets of yellow carnations, mums and baby’s breath. The flower girls wore matching yellow polyester gowns, trimmed with floral chiffon.

“Follow Me” and “There is Love” were the musical selections offered by Debbie Olson, a niece of the bride from Abbotsford, and Laurie Hendzel of Lublin.

Following the sharing of the vows, a reception was held at the Hungry Hollow Tavern, Gilman, which was hosted by Jean Wisniewski of Gilman and Shirley Luckman of Jump River. The couple let on a trip to Chicago and Grand Marais, Minnesota. The couple will make their home in Chili. The bride is a Thorp High School graduate and was employed by Yonks’ Bar and Café, Gilman. The groom is a Marshfield High School graduate and is the manager for the Chili Milk Pool Co-op.
