McLyman, Mrs. Cecil (7 August 1898 – 2 May 1980)
A Shortville native, Mrs. Cecil McLyman, 81, passed away on Friday morning, May
2, in her Duluth, Mn., Home. Funeral services were held in a Duluth funeral home
with burial in that city.
The deceased was born to Rudolph and Lizzie (Hohenstein) Frantz, near Shortville,
on August 7, 1898. She attended Shortville schools and Neillsville High School,
then taught several years before marrying Cecil McLyman in the early 1920’s.
Surviving is one daughter, Meredith, who was born to the couple; three
grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Paul (Ruby) Volkman, of Neillsville. Besides
her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother.
Mr. and Mrs. Volkman were unable to attend the funeral due to poor health.
