Greenwood Class of 1980 (Top Students - 1980)
The top graduating students at Greenwood High School recently were announced by
that school’s administration. Chosen valedictorian was Kathryn Fravert and
Salutatorian is Susan Richmond.
Fravert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Fravert, Rt. 2 Greenwood, was active and
an officer in various clubs and efforts, including FBLA, student council,
newspaper, Drama Club, National Honor Society and Math League. She was also
active in various school music programs and contests and attended Badger Girls
State and Elks, banquet.
The valedictorian plans on attending UW-Eau Claire in business management.
Richmond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Richmond, Rt. 2 Greenwood, has been
active in music, Drama Club, National Honor Society, Math League, high school
annual, newspaper staff and served as a class officer, She also participated in
the county’s government day, placed in a NCTI business contest, and participated
in a science and humanities symposium.
The salutatorian plans on attending UW-River Falls, majoring in horticulture.
Other honor students were also named for the class of 1980. They included
Barbara and Bonnie Krultz, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Selvian Krultz; Peter
Bucheger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Bucheger; Deanna Mavis, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Earl Mavis; Carmella Landini, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Landini; Susan
Denk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Denk; and Chris Baker, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Baker.
Also making the list were Duane Decker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Decker; Kent
Syth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reynold Syth; Raymond Nigon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clair
Nigon; Beth Kitzhaber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kitzhaber; Michael
Yaeger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Burnell Yaeger; Cindy Schlough, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. William Schlough; Dale Lindner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lindner, and Steve
Horvat, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Horvat.
