Hediger, Lucretia (Scholarship - 1980)
Lucretia Hediger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hediger, Jr., Christie, earned
a full tuition scholarship at Notre Dame University, South Bend, Indiana, for
graduate work in medieval studies.
Earlier she had been named to Who’s Who of American Colleges. She had studied in
the archives in England in 1979 and spent five months studying in a German
university. For part of this school year she was on a teaching fellowship.
Prior to her graduation, her parents and sister, Lydia, and another sister,
Loleta Montgomery and daughter Tiffanee, Granton, attended the honors
convocation and banquet at the Great Hall at the campus center. It was there
that Lucretia was named the “Outstanding Student” in the English literature
department. She graduated with majors in English and German, receiving a
bachelor’s degree.
