Halik, Anna (14 April 1890 – 31 May 1980)

Anna Halik, 90, a former Jackson County resident, died Saturday, May 31, in Neillsville Memorial Home where she had lived for the past eight years.

The former Anna Reznicech was born April 14, 1890, in Czechoslovakia and came to the United States at the age of fourteen. She married Norbert Halik in Chicago on February 14, 1915, and they moved to the Town of Komensky in Jackson County. In 1946, they moved to the Granton area, where they farmed.

Survivors include two sons, George of Black River Falls and Rudolph of Alma Center, two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Vlasta) Steponik, Sr., of Pittsville and Mrs. Maynard (Margaret) Myher of Merrillan, a sister, Mrs. August (Agnes) Zak, Chicago, Ill., twelve grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1965.

Services were held Monday afternoon, June 3, from the Torgerson Funeral Home Chapel in Black River Falls with the Rev. Ray Biggers officiating. Burial was made in the Komensky Cemetery in Jackson County.
