B&PW Charter Members (Honored - 1980)

A salad luncheon was held for 48 past and present members of the Neillsville Business and Professional Women’s Club (B&PW) on June 10 at Calvary Lutheran Church.

The event was the observance of the 40th anniversary of the local B&PW organization. Eight charter members of the club were present for the occasion with three of them still active in the club. They are Adelaide Ludovic, LaNiece Schiesel and Ann Hoesly, and other charter members include Hazel Hubing, Marguerite Kearns, Edna Georgas, Neva Yorkston and Dorene Harvey.

Alice Hinkelmann of the local club and a district vice-president introduced the club founders and past presidents. Each received a silk rose made by Laiko Gassen, which was presented by Laiko and Miss Neillsville, Tammy Glassbrenner.

Past presidents include Hazel Hubing, Clara Henchen, Iris Musil, Edna Georgas, Alice Hinkelmann, Ruby Stone, Hilda Lipscy and Pat Mrotek.

Especially remembered at the event was the efforts of Dr. Sarah Rosekrans, who was instrumental in forming the club on May 20, 1940.

A memorial was held for deceased members with a special prayer sung by Bonnie Eisentraut and Patricia Wall.

In other B&PW action, members discussed attendance at a charter night for the Dairyland B&PW of the Whitehall area on June 28.

Past president of the club is Bette Marshall.
