With her father presenting her to the altar, Virginia Ann Spiegel was married to
Joseph Timothy Edom in Saturday evening, June 14, Neillsville ceremonies. The
Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated at the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church
rites. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Spiegel, Rt. 2 Granton, and
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert J. Edom, Marion, Indiana.
Nancy Rossman, a sister of the bride from Eau Claire, was matron of honor. Mark
Prater, a friend of the groom from Greentown, Indiana was best man. Ushering
were Eugene Spiegel of Granton and Gary Spiegel of Neillsville, both brothers of

The bride was attired in an empire-style gown of silk organza, trimmed with
Chantilly lace and featuring a Queen Anne’s neckline, bishop sleeves and skirt
sweeping to a chapel tarin. Her Chantilly lace-edged veil was of fingertip
length, and she carried a bouquet of long-stemmed white and yellow roses, baby’s
breath and greenery. Her matron of honor wore a sea-green, three-tiered gown
with split capelet sleeves. She carried a bouquet similar to the bride’s.
Mrs. Pau Tess was a vocal soloist at the wedding and was accompanied by Mrs.
Melvin Nemitz.
Following the service, a buffet supper was held at St. John’s School which was
followed by a reception at the home of the bride’s parents. The couple left on a
wedding trip to the Great Smokey Mountains and Tennessee. They will make their
home in Boston, Massachusetts.
The bride is a Neillsville High School graduate, earned a bachelor’s degree in
secondary education in 1976 from UW-Eau Claire and a master’s in education from
