Rosary services for Michael Klak, 71, Pioneer American Telephone and Telegraph
engineer were held at the thorp Funeral Home Wednesday evening, March 13, 1974.
Michael Klak was the son of Ignace and Frances (Tomkowiak) Klak, who settled on
a farm in Thorp in 1893. He spent the greater part of his life in San Francisco,
California. After retiring, he spent the past 18 years in Anchorage, Alaska,
where he died on Friday, March 8, 1974.
Funeral services were conducted at St. Hedwig’s Chapel on Thursday, March 14,
1974 at 10 a.m., and interment was made in the Klak family plot.
He is survived by his sister, Harriet, Milwaukee; 4 brothers, Joseph of Chicago,
Nick of Milan, Michigan, Al of Chicago, Illinois, and Walter of Cudahy,
Wisconsin; a sister, Helen Wargolet, Milwaukee; also nieces and nephews.
