Abramowicz, Karen Marie (15 Jun 1974)

Karen Marie Abramowicz and Ronald Walter Borek were married June 15, 1974 at 1 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stanley. Father Kaiser officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Abramowicz Sr., 136 Barber St., Stanley. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Borek Jr., route 1, Lublin.

During the ceremony Jan Ogerglicki played the organ, and the mixed choir from Holy Family sang. Gary Abramowicz, brother of the bride, accompanied the choir during “The Lord’s Prayer” on his trumpet.

For her wedding the bride wore a gown of white organza with Venice lace trim. The natural waist bodice was highlighted by a high split neckline and full Bishop sleeves. White Venice lace adorned the bodice and cuffs. The sheer circle skirt swept into a chapel length train. To complement her gown she wore a Camelot styled headpiece in Venice lace, with her bouffant veil edged in Venice lace. The bride carried a bouquet of white carnations and red roses arranged in ivy and accented with baby’s breath of assorted colors.

Bev Ryba, a friend of the bride from Curtiss, was the maid of honor. Also attending the bride were Debbie Abramowicz, cousin of the bride, from Lublin, Paula Berdal, Stanley, and Bernadine Borek, sister-in-law of the groom, Hawkins. They wore light blue gowns of sheer organza with white Schifli accented the high neckline and puff sleeves. Pull through ribbon heighted the Schifli trim on the bodice. Satin ribbon encircled the waistline. The slightly gather skirt, fell softly to floor length. To complete their total look they wore matching light blue picture hats with ribbon Schifli trim. They carried baskets of white and blue carnations.

The best man was Michael Borek III, brother of the groom, Hawkins. Sylvester Abramowicz, brother of the bride, Stanley, Tom Dubiak, Lublin, and Ted Wojcik, Gilman, were groomsmen. Gary Abramowicz, brother of the bride, Stanley, and Joe Milas, cousin of the groom, Lublin, ushered guests. Acting as ring bearer and junior bride were Greg Dallas, cousin of the groom, Thorp, and Betty Jo Abramowicz, cousin of the bride, Lublin.

A reception at Koolmo’s Ballroom, Gilman, followed the ceremony. The coupe planned a trip to Black Hills, S.D.

The bride graduated from Stanley-Boyd High School and the groom from Gilman High School. Both attended District One Technical Institute in Eau Claire. He works as a diesel mechanic for Tombstone Trucking Corp., Medford.
