The marriage of Michael H. Leisz and Julie R. Nourse took place on Saturday,
April 20, 1974 at 3:00 in the Thorp United Methodist Church. The officiating
pastors were Rev. David Fuller and Rev. John Puerner. The bride’s parents are
Mr. and Mrs. William Nourse of Thorp, and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs.
Bernard Leisz of Turtle Lake, Wisconsin.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents. Her gown was white silk peau de
sau lace over taffeta. She wore a shoulder length veil with a lace and flower
headpiece, and carried a bouquet of white carnations, stephanotis and baby’s
breath.
The matron of honor was Nancy Rodriguez of Oshkosh. The bridesmaids were Judy
Sticka and Debbie Ude, both of Madison. Her junior bridesmaid was Kim Nourse of
Thorp. The flower girl was Camille Rodriguez of Oshkosh. Each girl carried a
basket of daisies.
The groom had chosen for his best man, Pat Wick of Turtle Lake, Wisconsin. The
groomsmen were Hal Platter of Menomonie and Wayne Hersch of Chicago, Ill. Bruce
Platter was the ring bearer. They were dressed in white tuxedos with black
lapels and ants. The ushering was done by Mike Janssen of Green Bay and Bob
Glasscock of Louisville, Kentucky.
A reception and dance were held at the American Legion Hall following the
ceremony. Mike and Julie will make their new home in Green Bay.
