It was announce this morning by Mr. A. H. Pritchard, President of Farmers Store
Company, that as of May 28, 1974, the Farmers Store will discontinue the sale of
food at its Thorp location. He stated, “We feel we can be of better service to
the Thorp community by remodeling and renovating our store to handle sales of
soft lines. Over the years, the Thorp community has been very good to us, and we
feel the void that now exists in the community is an obligation we must fill.”
The company plans to be in a period of remodeling for approximately 30 days,
during which time the store will remains open for business, but by July 1 we
will have a new face and much more merchandise.
