The largest commencement in the history of the University of Wisconsin, Eau
Claire will be held in the University Arena May 18, 1974, when 870 graduates
will receive diplomas.
From the Thorp area graduates are:
- Shirley Ann Shufelt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Pawelko, route, 1, Lublin,
Bachelor of Science degree, School of Education. Campus honors: Phi Beta lambda.
- Randolph Melvin Boardman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Boardman, Thorp,
Bachelor of Science degree, School of Education with a major in mental
retardation, Elementary Education. Campus honors: Magna Cum Laude.
- Marilyn Theresa Slipek, daughter of Mr. Raymond Slipek, Bachelor of Science
degree with a major in Elementary Education and minor in Sociology. Campus
honors: Elementary Education Club, dormitory government rep., resident
orientation Asst., Newman community member and on the Dean’s List.
- George Arnold Kowieski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kowieski, Thorp, Bachelor of
Business Administration, with a major in Industrial Accounting. Campus honors:
Beta Upsilon Sigma.
