Kott, Jonathan L. (7 January 1998 – 11 December 2021)

Jonathan L. Kott, 23, of Chippewa Falls, died suddenly of natural causes, Saturday, December 11, 2021.

He was born on January 7, 1998, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Chippewa Falls the son of James and Lucinda (Ederer) Kott. He grew up in the Thorp area. During his high school years, he began his future career at Bob Mertens Trucking & Sales, as well as Wissota Transport. After graduation from Thorp High in 2016, he began working at Mid-State Truck Service, while attending Chippewa Valley Technical College to earn his degree as a diesel technician; he graduated in May 2018 and continued to work at Mid-State and Wissota Transport, quickly advancing in his profession and earning the highest respects from his supervisors and coworkers.

Jon enjoyed hanging out with friends and the love of his life Haylee, as well as shooting pool, going to truck pulls and races, and target practice. Restoring his 2002 Ford pickup with a 7.3-liter power stroke was his dream, and family and friends will be completing his dream.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Haylee Hoyt of Chippewa Falls, his parents, Jim and Lucinda of Thorp, his paternal grandmother, Florence Kott of Stanley, his maternal grandmother, Lucille Moeller of Chippewa Falls, his three sisters, Kelli (Matt) Turenne of Cadott, Kristen Kott of Eau Claire and Rebekka (Waylon Copenhaver) Kott of Stanley and his niece and nephew, RaeElla and Traeger.

Jon is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John Kott and maternal grandfather, Cletus Ederer, and an uncle, Julian Kott.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church-rural Stanley with Father Baskaran officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Friday and from 9 A.M. until departure to the church Saturday at the Plombon Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers a donation to be made to Jon Kott Mid-State Truck Service Memorial Scholarship. All checks can be made out to the CVTC Foundation, Attn: Jon Kott Memorial Scholarship.
