Possley, Edith (25 Jul 1881 – 28 May 1974)
Mrs. Edith Possley, 92, died Tuesday morning, May 28, 1974 at Black River Falls
Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 25, 1881 in Germany. She came to the United States in 1883 and
lived in Sheboygan until 1886, when she moved to Thorp. Mrs. Possley graduated
from Thorp High School in 1900 and attended Stevens Point Normal, where she
became a teacher and taught in Clark County schools.
She married Charles Possley January 29, 1913 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in
Thorp.
Surviving are three sons, Roman, River Forest, Illinois, Donald, Whitehall,
James, Thorp; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30 at St. Bernard’s Church, with Father
Brockman and Father Puerner officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Pallbearers were: George Possley, Joseph Possley, Steve Possley, Tom Possley,
Joe Slota and Dr. Larry Hanley. Honorary pallbearer was Peter Possley.
