Diane Kay Person, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Person, route 2, Thorp, became
the bride of Glen E. Vetterkind, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Vetterkind, route 1,
Thorp, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Thorp, June 1, 1974, with Rev. R. W. Olson
performing the 2 p.m. double ring ceremony.
Miss Judy Person, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Another sister, Donna,
served as a bridesmaid. Mrs. Jane Elwood, sister of the groom, was also a
bridesmaid. They chose dresses of dotted Swiss in rainbow colors, pink, blue and
yellow, and wore hats to match the color of their dress.
Miss Jodie Kostick, frind of the bride, served as flower girl. She wore a gown
identical to the bride’s. The brideamid’s bouquets were of pastel colored
carnations with love knot ribbons.
Leonard Vetterkind, brother of the groom, was best man. Another brother, Vernon,
and Franklin Elwood, brother-in-law of the groom, served as groomsmen. Russ
Person, brother of the bride, was ring bearer. They all wore black crushed
velvet tuxedos with colored shirts to match their attendant.
Mr. Don Johnson, uncle of the bride, sang “Because” and “Theme from Romeo and
Juliet.”
Jeff Person and Arlan Offord served as ushers.
The newlyweds will make their home at route 1, Thorp.
