Szczech, Mr./Mrs. Joseph (45th – Jun 1974)

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Szczech, Stanley, were pleasantly surprised Saturday, June 8, 1974, when a Mass and reception were given by their children in honor of their 45th Wedding Anniversary.

Performing the 1:30 p.m. Mass and Marriage Blessing was Father Andzjewski at St. Mary’s Czestochowa Catholic Church, Stanley. The Mass was planned by the couple’s 16 grandchildren, who took part in the Mass in various ways, honor their grandparents. Organist was Celia Chura.

The honored couple were feted at a reception and dinner following the Mass at the Thorpedo Restaurant, Thorp. The evening reception took place at the home of a son, Frank and family.

Attending the festivities, besides the children and grandchildren, were the couple’s brothers and sisters, and their spouses and a few close neighbors.

The couple’s six children are : Mrs. George (Joanne) Konieczny, Marshfield, Frank, Stanley; Mrs. John (Carol) Szymanski, Marshfield; Mrs. Frank (Stephanie) Kotecki, Altoona; Mrs. Bill (Mary) Boh, Marshfield, and Joe Jr., Osseo, Minn.
