Meske, Mr./Mrs. George (Gold – Jun 1974)
Mr. and Mrs. George Meske celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary at their
home in rural Thorp, June 8, 1974. A mass was said in their honor. Celebrant of
the mass was Rev. Bill Buchman and mas servers were their grandsons, Robert
Bloczynski and David Straskowski. Their bridesmaid of 50 years ago, Mrs. Dolores
(Wilhelm) Valente of Milwaukee, was present for the occasion.
Others in attendance were five of their daughters, their husbands and children,
Mr. and Mrs. John Bloczynski Jr and family of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Gettler and family of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Felix Straskowski and family of
Thorp, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Trybula and family of Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Husting and family of Brookfield, Wisconsin. Also present were their
grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hoefko and family of Madison and Mr. and Mrs.
Ron Wirtz and children of Kenosha. Other guests who came to congratulate them
were: Mr. and Mrs. Anton Hendricks of Sheboygan, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Larson of
Fort Atkinson, Mr. Fred Oberle of Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Heiting and Mrs.
Ronald Nerdrum of Stanley, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Oberle of Gilman, Rev. Brockman, Mr.
and Mrs. Martin Oberle, Mr. August Oberle, Mrs. Helen Meske and Barbara, Mrs.
Anna Meske, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Haas, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Brenner, Eugene Wilhelm
and Mrs. Frank Wnek, all of Thorp.
