Hodowanic, Anna (3 Mar 1890 – 4 Jul 1974)
Mrs. Anna Hodowanic, 84, route 1, Gilman, died Thursday at Victory Memorial
Hospital, Stanley.
She was born March 3, 1890 in Austria, and then came to the United States and
lived in Chisholm, Minnesota. She was married to Peter Hodowanic in 1907. They
moved to the Huron area and retired in Aurora in 1946.
Survivors are five sons, Mike, Dickson, Illinois, Alex and John both of Boyd,
Steven Gilman; three daughters, Mrs. Tony Lauer, Ladysmith, Mrs. John Blau,
Chicago, Mrs. Merton Johnson, Gilman; 334 grandchildren and 18
great-grandchildren; and two brothers, John and Mike, Canada.
Funeral services were Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Orthodox Church in
Huron, with Father Emile Glocar officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
