Seventy-seven students will be spending a semester abroad this fall as part of
the International Studies Program at the University of Wisconsin, Steven Point.
After a month-long study tour of the European continent, 40 of these
upperclassmen will be headquartered in London, while the other 37 will take up
residency in Munich, Germany. Both groups will leave Wisconsin on August 18,
1974 and will return in early December.
In the group is: to Germany, Scott Zoromski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Zoromski,
705 N. Washington Street, Thorp.
Led by UW-Stevens Point faculty, members, Dennis Tierney and Dr. Robert
Artigiani, the “Semester in Britain” contingent will visit Luxembourg, Germany,
France, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland and Holland before settling down in
an international friendship house in suburban London. There the students will be
studying with Artigiani and Tierney, as well as two British professors from a
local college. Plays, concerts, museum visits and weekend trip to nearby places
of interest, selected by the students, are also part of the schedule.
The German group, headed by Dr. Robert Baruch, will be living in Munich at
facilities comparable to an American YMCA, after first stopping in Berlin and
several other central European countries. German educators will assist Baruch in
offering a diverse curricula, which will enable the students to earn from 12 to
17 credits while abroad.
