Hill, Jerry Lee (24 February 1934 – 14 September 2021)
Jerry Hill, 75, of 36 West River Street, Chippewa Falls, formerly of Fairchild,
died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, surrounded by his loved ones at Luther Hospital in
Eau Claire.
Jerry Lee Hill, son of Early and Ethel (Efird) Hill, was born Feb. 24, 1934, in
High Point, N.C. He was united in marriage to Mary Alice Smith on April 9, 1955,
in High Point.
The couple moved to Fairchild in 1966, where Jerry was employed at Nicholson Saw
Mill. He later worked at Presto Industries in Eau Claire, until suffering a
stroke which forced him to retire.
He loved hunting and sharing life stories with everyone he met. He always told
good stories and was a gentle man with a kind heart. If you knew Jerry, then you
knew how he could always bring a smile to your face, as he loved telling jokes
and had a great sense of humor. He was a member of Hope Gospel Light House.
He is survived by his mother Ethel Estelle Hill of High Point, N.C.; wife Mary
A. Hill of Chippewa Falls; their three daughters, Earlene and Marvin Kopp of
Humbird, Estelle and Glen Robinson of Chippewa Falls, and Tidy Hill of Chippewa
Falls; six grandchildren, Bethany and Mary Robinson, Bobbie Jo (Chris) Gillette,
Rachael (David) Roen, Adam and Kathy Kopp; and six great-grandchildren, Tyler,
Bailey, Trei, Taylor, Kaden and Aiden. He was preceded in death by his father.
Jerry will be greatly missed by his family and everyone who knew him.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Anderson
Funeral Home in Augusta with burial in the Town of Mentor Cemetery, rural
Humbird.
Friends may call two hours before services at the funeral home on Saturday.
