Funeral services were held Monday late morning, July 7, for Alfred Moldenhauer, 77, of Rt. 1 Granton, who suffered a fatal heart attack in his home on Friday morning, July 4.

The deceased was born on September 25, 1902, in Dowagiac, Mich., to Walter and Clara (Wischulke) Moldenhauer. On June 28, 1924, he married Leona Riedel in Granton’s Mapleworks Lutheran Church ceremonies. The couple then farmed in the Town of York. Moldenhauer was a member of the Zion congregation.

Surviving him beside his wife is one daughter, Doris, of Granton.

The Rev. Maynard Stokka officiated at the Zion American Lutheran Church services with burial made in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Arno Winter, Wallace Riedel, Norman Braatz, Martin A. Krause, Norman Beilke and Martin Hillert.
