Tieman, Loren A. (6 Feb 1930 – 1 Oct 1974)
Funeral services for a former area resident, Loren A. Tieman, 44, were held
Thursday from the First Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ,
Waukesha, the Rev. Howard Kusler officiating. Burial was in the Prairie Home
Cemetery.
Mr. Tieman, who died at his home Tuesday morning after a lengthy illness, was
born February 6, 1930 in Thorp, the son of Earl and Pearl (Paradis) Tieman. He
grew up in the Butlerville area, where he attended school, also attending the
Thorp High School.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean War, and received a
medical discharge after twelve years of service. He had been in poor health
since.
After his discharge, he lived for a time in Milwaukee, and then moved to
Waukesha, where he had lived since. At the time of his death he was a counselor
at Misericordia Community Hospital, Milwaukee, and before that held a similar
position at Milwaukee County General.
Survivors include his wife, Alyce; three sons, Rick and Daney, Spokane,
Washington, and Loren Jr., at home; two daughters, Cindy of Spokane, and Lorrie,
at home; three step-children, Tracey, Karl and Troy Wilkening, all at home; his
mother, Mrs. Pearl Sawyer, Waukesha; five brothers, Earl of Stanley, Kenneth of
Crivitz, Dale and John of Waukesha, and Russell of Elgin, Illinois, and two
sisters, Mrs. Melvin (Mona) Cunningham and Mrs. Gary (Maxine) Lowe, Waukesha.
He was preceded in death by his father and an infant sister, Betty.
