Neville, Anna F. (9 March 1892 – 1 July 1980)

Anna F. Neville, 88, a long-time Neillsville resident, passed away on the afternoon of July 1 in Neillsville Memorial Home. She had been a resident of that facility for the past 2 1/2 years due to failing health.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning, July 3, from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville with the Rev. Joseph Henseler officiating. Burial was made in the parish cemetery and the Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The deceased was born on March 9, 1892, in Cataract to Fred and Mary (Hank) Wendt. She received her education in that community and Neillsville. On November 11, 1918, she married William J. Neville in Neillsville ceremonies. She was a member of St. Mary’s parish and its PCCW.

Surviving her are two sons, William of Neillsville and Leo of Middleton, fourteen grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband (February 26, 1965), two brothers and four sisters.

Serving as pallbearers for the funeral were Rodney, Rick, Mike, Patrick, Leo, Jr., and Bill Neville, Jr. Music was offered by St. Mary’s Choir, accompanied by Mrs. Glenn Short.

Attending the services from out of town were Anna Mack, Mr./Mrs. Glen Mack, Edmund Barney, Marsh and Ben Kruger and Mr./Mrs. Geo. Suth, of Eau Claire; Mr./Mrs. Lawrence Cox, Mr./Mrs. John Syth, Mr./Mrs. Simon Wehrman, Mrs. Earl Caliebe and Betty Lenz, all of Greenwood; Mr./Mrs. Sheldon Laffe, Montezuma, Ia.; Mr./Mrs. Robert Gutenberger, New Berlin; Mr./Mrs. Glen Durg, Plymouth; Mr./Mrs. Conrad Marcotte, Rio; Mr./Mrs. Ted Hoff, West Allis; Neland Will, Colby; Mr./Mrs. Francis Michels, Alma Center; Mrs. Tom Mack, Milwaukee; Rodney Neville, St. Paul, Mn.; Mr./Mrs. Rick Neville, Marshfield; Mr./Mrs. Dick Prochazka, Rochester; Mr./Mrs. Leo Neville & sons and Mr./Mrs. Leo Neville, Jr., of Middleton, Mr./Mrs. Don Kanter, Greenfield; and Mr./Mrs. Pat Neville, Waunakee.
