Iwanski, Shirley Marie (22 April 1959 – 7 January 2022)

Shirley Iwanski, age 62, of Neillsville, died Friday, January 7, 2022, at her home on Hill Street.

Shirley Marie Housholder was born on April 22, 1959, in Chicago, IL the daughter of Albert and Marie (Jost) Housholder. She graduated from McHenry High School in McHenry, IL and then worked in the insurance industry. On June 12, 1982, she was united in marriage to James Iwanski in McHenry, IL. She then began a career at Follett Software in Crystal Lake, IL working as a software engineer. During her time there, Shirley went back to school and earned her associates degree in computer information systems. In 1997, the family moved to Neillsville and Shirley worked for Weyerhauser, now Marshfield Door, on their computer systems. A son, Jason, was born in 2007. Shirley also worked for years at Prince Corporation and most recently at the Clark County Courthouse, in the Land Conservation Department as a receptionist.

Shirley was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Granton and was a Sunday School teacher when her son was younger. She enjoyed scrapbooking and she made shopping a hobby.

She is survived by her husband, James, a son, Jason, her mother, Marie Shirley Housholder and five siblings, Albert Housholder of Auburndale, Thomas Housholder of Big Flats, Catherine Housholder of Auburndale, Dave (Vicki) and their daughter, Athena of Marshfield, and Cynthia Pohl of Marshfield.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert and brothers, Robert and Patrick.

Funeral services for Shirley will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Granton. Pastor Daniel Schoessow will officiate. Music will be provided by Caroline Helm, organist. Interment will be in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the church.
