Kaszubowski, Betty (14 Sep 1974)
On Saturday, September 14, 1974, Betty Kaszubowski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted
Kaszubowski, Thorp, became the bride of Louis Stokosa Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs.
Louis Stokosa Sr., Lublin. The double ring ceremony was performed at 12:30 in
the afternoon by Rather Stanley Chilicki at St. Mary’s Czestochowa. Roger
Truckey was organist, with Mrs. Terry Biddle and Mrs. Ken Malecki as vocalists.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a full length princes style
gown of Sata Peau, and Venice lace with a Victorian novelty bib bodice, and a
high neckline of lace, trimmed with pearls and edged with lace. The long tapered
lace sleeves were also trimmed with pearls. The skirt had re-embroidered lace
and pearl appliques with a wide lace flounce at the hemline and around the
chapel train. The Camelot headpiece secured a long lace edged veil. The bride
carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations entwined with baby’s breath.
Pat Kaszubowski, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were:
Carol Kluck, sister of the bride, and Peggy Kornesczuk, niece of the groom. They
wore full length aqua polyester gowns, accented with white lace and pearl trim.
They wore miniature aqua ribbons in their hair. Each carried a bouquet of mixed
fall flowers.
Melanie Strizic, niece of the groom, was miniature bride. She wore a gown
identical to the bride’s.
Don Peleschak, friend of the groom, was best man, and the groomsmen were: Tom
Kluck, brother-in-law of the bride, and Bob Kaszubowski, brother of the bride.
The ring bearer was Douglas Filipiak, nephew of the groom. Ushers were: Joe and
Eugene Stokosa, brothers of the groom.
A reception and dance for 400 guests were held at the Quonset Hall, Thorp.
Bonnie and Linda Kaszubowski were in charge of the guests book. Hostesses were
Mrs. Peter Depa and Mrs. Mike Norks. Mrs. Walter Filipiak and Mrs. Tony Depa cut
the cake.
