Nitz, Lori A. (9 Nov 1961 – 20 Dec 2021)

Lori Ann Nitz, 60, of Stanley, WI, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 20, 2021. She was born November 9, 1961 to Ronald and Cynthia (Hendrickson) Swope at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls, WI, and she attended Stanley-Boyd Area Schools.

Lori married the love of her life, Tim Nitz, 25 years ago on June 8, 1996. They set the bar so high for what true love should look like, and together they raised six children, had 14 I grandchildren, and I one great-grandchild. Their entire existence revolved around their everlasting faith along with their children, and grandchildren. They truly were their entire world.

Whether they were blood related or not, rarely there was a day that they didn't have a houseful of children. She loved crafting and sharing that passion with everyone, especially on her scrapbooking retreats. Her patience and love were unmatched and she was an amazing influence to all around her. From recipes to life lessons, she was a phenomenal teacher. Her talents were conveyed through scrapbooks of her grandchildren and decorating for weddings with a business built by her and her sister, Lynn.

Aside from her kind heart, she was known to her family and friends as the "prank master." Whether the joke was on you or not, there was rarely a time Lori didn't have you laughing.

Lori was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Swope; her brother, Shane Swope; and her grandparents.

She is survived by her husband, Tim Nitz; her children: Matthew (Jennifer) Gruba, Cora (Nate) Smiskey, Coty (TBD) Gruba, Travis (Sara) Nitz, Mindy Gruba (Nick Claussen), and Kyle Nitz (Amy Robbins); 14 grandchildren: Tyler Straskowski (Aliegha Ruzika), Kaelin Roshell, Bailey Straskowski, Abigail Gruba, Gabriella Gruba, Chloe Schuebel, Carter Smith, Hunter Gruba, Gavin Gruba, Macynn Smiskey, Klaire Robbins, Brock Robbins, Ali Nitz and Ivy Nitz; and her great grandchild, Truxton Straskowski.

She is also survived by her mother, Cynthia Swope; and her siblings: Steve (Candy) Swope, Lynn (Ed) Shilts, Kim Kmieciak (Mike Mason), Kelly Copenhaver and Ron "Bucky" (Beth) Swope; and sister-in-law, Heidi Swope.

There aren't enough words to describe the amazing woman she was. She made life brighter for all those around her and saying she will be missed is an understatement.

A Memorial Service for close friends and family honoring Lori will be held Monday, January 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Faith Evangelical Free Church, 705 Madison St., Stanley, WI 54768 with Randy Vandeloo officiating.

A public celebration of life will be held at a later date.

If desired, donations and condolences may be sent to Tim Nitz at RO. Box 22, Stanley, WI 54768 and flowers may be sent to the church where the service will be held.
