Biddle, Edward (8 Oct 1897 – 28 Nov 1974)
Edward Biddle was born October 8, 1897 at Thorp and passed away November 28,
1974.
His parents were Mr. and Mrs. George Biddle, who were pioneer settlers at Thorp.
Ed attended school at Thorp. He went West as a young man and spent many years in
the Western states, where he was engaged as a saw filer in the lumber mills. In
1948 he was married to Nina Childress at Oakland, California. They came back to
Wisconsin in 1949, where they first lived in Thorp for a number of years. For
that past six years they have resided in Stanley, where he passed away after a
lingering illness.
Surviving are his wife, Nina; three brothers, Wm. Biddle, Portland, Oregon,
Melvin Biddle, South Milwaukee, James Biddle, Thorp; eight sisters, Mrs. Pearl
Jeffers, Puyallup, Washington, (Alice) Mrs. Marion Sanders, Pitt Meadows, B.C.,
Canada, (Ruth) Mrs. Melvin Huth, Baraboo, Wis., (Grace) Mrs. Herman Christen,
Osseo, (Sarah) Mrs. Adam Path, Fayetteville, Ark., (Katherine) Mrs. John Pagel,
Thorp, (Virginia) Mrs. Alois Prock, Owen, (Bernice) Mrs. August Hoeper, Oak
Lawn, Ill. His father and mother and one brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at the Thorp Funeral Home at 2 p.m., December 1 Rev.
David Fuller conducted the services.
Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased: Gerald Pagel, Ronald Pagel, Bill
Pagel, George Pagel, James Christen and Roger Biddle.
