“Fairest of the Fair” (Keating - 1980)
A Thorp girl, Lorrie Keating, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Keating, will reign a
t the upcoming Clark County Fair and throughout the years as “Miss Fairest of
the Fair.”
Lorrie was crowned in recent ceremonies held in Loyal. Twenty-three competed in
the thirteenth annual contest in an event coordinated by Phyllis Conrad.
Lorrie will be competing after the fair for the state “Fairest of the Fair”
title. She presently holds the Miss Thorp crown.
Named first runner-up was Katherine Klausen, Thorp; while Suzanne Wulk, Withee,
was named second runner-up. Selected for her congeniality was Penny Mantik of
Abbotsford, who is also that community’s Snow Queen.
Retiring queen was Lynn Halida of Loyal. Participating in the competition were
the following, by community:
Greenwood—Gina Volovsek, Jill Marie Denk, Carmella Landini, Cyndee Scheuerman,
Yvonne Seliskar, Bonnie Krultz, Linda Jolivette and karen Metzke.
Neillsville—Michelle Wilcox, Kim Nall, Lori Johnson, Rhonda Trimberger and Tammi
Glassbrenner.
Loyal—Annmarie Olson and Bernie Schmidt. Chili—Brenda Marie Lindow, Chili.
Owen—Kara Andreason. Willard—Laura Debevec. Thorp—Lorrie Keating and Katherine
Klausen.
Withee—Suzanne Wulk and Ramona Koplitz. Granton—Sherri Dix. Abbottsford—Penny
Mantik.
