Hepburn, Howard (? – 21 July 1980)
A former manager of the Greenwood Farmers Store, Howard C. Hepburn, passed away
on Monday, July 21, in a Barron hospital. Mr. Hepburn was 87 at the time of his
death.
The deceased was born in Prairie Farm and live most of his life in that
community, serving as postmaster. On June 20, 1917, he married Anna Lied.
Hepburn later managed the Greenwood department store and then moved back to
Prairie Farm in 1932 where he farmed until retiring in 1960. He lived in Barron
for the past eight years.
Surviving him, besides his wife, is a daughter, Doris Anderson, Waseca, Mn.; a
son, Melbourne, Canton: a brother, Frank, Mauston; a sister, Alice Maundel,
Eugene, Or.; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on the morning of July 25, from the United Lutheran
Church in Prairie Farm with burial in a cemetery in that community.
