The Installation Service for Pastor Dennis Maves at the Alliance Church in
Curtiss, Wisconsin was held on Sunday afternoon, January 16, 1977.
In attendance to help in the service were former pastors and their families,
Pastor and Mrs. Lester Kringle, now of Green Bay, Pastor and Mrs. Woodrung of
Waconia, Minnesota. Pastor and Mrs. Stan Aukemia from the Marshfield Alliance
Church, and Pastor and Mrs. Harry Landaw of the Owen Alliance Church, were also
in attendance.
Pastor James Stone of Menomonie gave the charge to the new pastor during the
service.
At the conclusion of the service the congregation held a mortgage burning
ceremony, with Pastor Kringle and Pastor Woodrung holding the mortgage and with
the ashes falling into an old communion cup.
A painting of the church was then present to Pastor Maves and his wife, which
had been painted by Mrs. George Shattuck of Wausau.
After the service a lunch was served to all the many friends and members who
attended.
