Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic opera, “Patience,” opens a two-week run at the
University of Wisconsin, River Falls on Thursday, February 3, 1977. The satiric
musical will be staged February 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12 in the Theatre of the
Kleinpell Fine Arts Building. Curtain time for all performances is 8 p.m.
The musical comedy, which pokes fun at England’s aesthetic craze of the 1880’s,
features such characters as “Archibald the All-Right” (played by Kent Fenske of
New London) and “Reginald Bunthorne” (Robert Beldler of the music faculty.” The
two are rivals for the affections of the village milkmaid, “Patience” (Faith
Long of Cumberland. Completing the cast of are assorted members of royalty and a
30-voice chorus of “rapturous maidens” and “dragoon guards.”
