Schreiber, Mary A. (16 March 1953 – 10 January 2022)
Mary A. Schreiber, age 68, of Athens, passed away unexpectedly on Monday,
January 10, 2022, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Mary was born on March 16, 1953, in Stevens Point; the daughter of Lawrence and
Bertha (Rolff) Schreiber. She graduated from Westfield High School and then went
on to earn her bachelor’s degree from UW-Stevens Point.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Athens also serving as the
organist for church.
Her hobbies included cooking and baking. With skilled and patient hands, Mary
crafted, crocheted, knitted and sewed beautiful and one-of-a-kind pieces. She
would also take part in playing her flute in the old timer’s band on the square
in Athens every Friday night.
She is survived by her three siblings: Peter (Marge Garbisch) Schreiber of
Granton, Helen Schreiber of Athens, and John (Carol) Schreiber of Coopersville,
Mich. as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Bertha Schreiber; a
sister, Margaret Scott and a sister-in-law, Kathy Schreiber.
Her Memorial Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at
Trinity Lutheran Church in Athens with Rev. Mark Schmallenberg officiating.
Committal services will be held privately at a later time. Family and friends
are invited to gather at the church on Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of
service.
Her arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.
