Nielsen, Clarence T. (31 Mar 1906 – 21 Jan 1977)
Services for Clarence T. Nielsen, 70, were held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at
Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee. Mr. Nielsen died at 7:45 am. on Saturday at
Chippewa Golden Age Home in Chippewa Falls.
The Rev. Lloyd Yaggie, pastor, officiated. Cremation followed.
Masonic Services were held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night at the Kraut-Maurina
Funeral Home.
Mr. Nielsen was born March 31, 1906 at Withee, and married the former Ruth
Thompson on February 9, 1929 at Blue Island, Illinois. She died December 28,
1973.
He had operated a welding and blacksmith shop from 1942 to 1959 at Mayville. He
then worked for the John Deere Company at Horicon until 1969, when he retired
and came back to Owen.
He was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church and Owen Masonic Lodge F & AM No.
317. He served as past worthy patron of the Owen Eastern Star and was a member
of the Scottish Rite, Eau Claire Consistory, and the Tripoli Shrine in
Milwaukee.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Louis) Cockfield, Chippewa Falls; a
sister, Mrs. Julianne Freitag, Owen, and a granddaughter.
