Zschernitz, Elizabeth "Betty" (4 April 1914-3 January 1984)
NEILLSVILLE- Services for Mrs. Edmund (Elizabeth "Betty") Zschernitz, 69, of
1709 Pitcher St., Neillsville, who died Tuesday at Memorial Hospital, will be
Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Neillsville.
The Rev. Joseph N. Henseler will officiate and burial will be in the parish
cemetery. Visitation will be at the Gesche Funeral Home.
The former Elizabeth Sonnentag was born April 4, 1914 in Marathon City, to the
late Mr. and Mrs. Frank (Viola Bauer) Sonnentag. She came to the Neillsville
area with her parents at the age of 5 and received her education in schools
there.
She was married to Edmond Zschernitz in August 1932 in Neillsville, where they
continued to live. She was employed at Horswill Cafe and the Arbutus Cafe for
several years.
A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs.
Pat Booher of Sacramento, California; one son, Edmond of Friendship; one sister,
Mrs. Al (Mary) Engum of Fairchild; three brothers, Francis Sonnentag of Osage,
Iowa, Jacob Sonnentag of College Place, Washington and Thomas Sonnentag of
Berlin; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband on March 30, 1956.
