Carol Mary Swattler was born on Oct. 6, 1937, in Pulaski, the daughter of Harry J. and Isabel B. (nee Czarapata) Swattler. She was raised and received her education in Pulaski, graduating from Pulaski High School in 1955. She met her future husband, Lawrence V. Lampsa, in Milwaukee, and they were united in marriage on Feb. 27, 1960, in Waukesha. After moving to Loyal in 1982, Carol worked at Ditter Well Drilling until becoming employed with Citizens State Bank of Loyal in 1988. She worked there for many years until retiring in 2009. Carol also served on the Loyal City Council from October 2004 until April 2007, and was the mayor of Loyal from May 2007 until May 2011. After retiring, they resided in Loyal until moving to Marshfield in 2017. She was a member of the Loyal United Methodist Church and spent many years organizing trips for the Key Club when she was working for the bank in Loyal. Carol had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family, playing games, watching sports, bowling, and playing bridge. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed crossword puzzles and crocheting. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, love of laughter, and her ability to bring joy to everyone around her.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Lawrence, of Marshfield; three sons: David (Lesli) of Wausau, Brian (Carla) of Downers Grove, Ill., and Jeff (Amber) of New Berlin; five grandchildren: Bethany (Ryan) Cody, and Mathew, Christopher, Maggie and Sarah Lampsa; one sister: Ruth Ann (Chuck) Fitt of Little Suamico; one sister-in-law: Barbara Swattler of Naples, Fla.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Kenneth Swattler. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cuddiefh.com. Cuddie Funeral Home of Loyal is assisting the family with arrangements.
