Dietrich, Travis Michael (5 June 1977 - 28 February 2022)
Travis M. Dietrich, 44, of Thorp, passed away at his home on Monday, February
28, 2022.
Travis Michael Dietrich was born on June 5, 1977, in Neillsville, the son of
Michael T. and Christine M. (Nolechek) Dietrich. He was raised and received his
education in Thorp, graduating from Thorp High School in 1995. After completing
his education, Travis joined the International Union of Operating Engineers,
Local 139, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator until his death. He was
united in marriage on March 8, 2003, to Nichole L. Johnson in Eau Claire. Over
the years, they lived in Eau Claire, Johnson Creek, Holcombe and Thorp.
He had many interests, but especially enjoyed ice fishing, hunting, spending
time with his children, camping, country music, and spending time on the lake.
Travis is survived by his wife: Nikki, and their two sons, Dawson and Tucker,
all of Thorp; his mother: Christine Dietrich of Thorp; three siblings: Ashley
Dietrich (Nathan Stelter) of Chippewa Falls, Jake Dietrich of Chippewa Falls,
Zach Dietrich (Brook Johnson) of Thorp; his mother-in-law: Kay Johnson of Thorp;
his maternal grandmother: Dolores Nolechek of Thorp; his paternal grandmother:
Lucille Dietrich of Thorp; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael T. Dietrich, his father-in-law:
Robert Johnson; his maternal grandfather, William Nolechek, Sr., and his
paternal grandfather, Karl “Tucker” Dietrich.
Private family burial will take place at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in Thorp,
with a public Celebration of Life to be held at a later date this summer.
