Radue, Donald J. (10 Oct 1944 – 10 Mar 2022)

Donald J. Radue, 77, Loyal, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at the VA Medical Center in Tomah. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, May 21, at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Loyal. Military rites will be conducted by the Loyal American Legion Post 175.

Donald Joseph Radue was born on Oct. 10, 1944, in Greenwood, the son of Walter E. and Margaret A. (nee Wolf) Radue. He was raised and received his education in Loyal, graduating from Loyal High School in 1963. Don served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from July 14, 1965, until his honorable discharge on July 13, 1967. After returning from the war, Don went to work as a plumber for Sturtz Plumbing. He later started his own business, Radue Plumbing, where he worked with his father until retiring in the mid-1980s. Don resided in Loyal all of his life. He had many interests, which included fishing; flying airplanes, where he was an accomplished pilot; going to air shows, especially the EAA air show in Oshkosh; canoeing; and riding motorcycles.

Don is survived by his brother-in-law: Michael (Nancy) Potter of Arpin; one aunt: Erna Kemps of Weston; and cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Patricia Ann Potter. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Don’s name to a charity of your choice.
