Berg, Raymond & Mary (55th Anniversary, 24 July 1983)
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Berg of Colby celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary
Sunday starting with a Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby, with the Very
Rev. Raymond J. Pedretti officiating at their renewal of vows.
Supper was served at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
Edward (Betty) Miller in Merrill.
Berg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Berg, was born April 21, 1902 in Campbellsport.
He attended school in Edgar and was a cheesemaker in Wuerzburg before marriage.
Mrs. Berg, the former Mary Sazama, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sazama, was
born December 3, 1902 in Colby. She attended school there and graduated from
Stevens Point Normal.
They were married July 24, 1928 in St. Mary's Church. The Bergs owned Roselawn
Cheese Factory at Colby for many years. Besides Mrs. Miller, they have a son,
Warren Berg, Colby, and another daughter, Mrs. David E. (Jean) Haffa,
Marshfield.
